It looks like the same James Rowbottom, Jo. He seems to have married three times and taken on various step families. I don't think his first wife was Mary Hand, my guess is it's "Mrs Mary Rowbottom" on the IGI at St Thomas' in 1828, we may not get further than that.

Samuel birth cert would give his Mothers maiden name though.
