I have reason to believe the above went to the USA based on my boy memories and I cannot find his death in the indexes. My account with Amnesty is limited to UK and Australia. Can someone check any USA records, Thanks

William Jarvis BELL born 1885 St Peters, Nottingham, England
Married 1904 Spouse Mary Ann CASTLEDINE.
No Ellis Island record but as his younger brother George was sent to Canada as an orphan following death of both parents, he probably would have traveled via Ontario, Canada.

Have you checked the 1911 census to see when they might of gone.

And do you know any childrens names? A possible one Hilda M Bell mothers maiden name Castledine, born 1914 Nottingham.

Do you know how many William Bell entries there are in the shipping reords between England and the USA?

So I am trying to work backwards from the American Census records starting at 1930.

There is a William J Bell and Ann A Bell of the right age, from England, livingi n Ridgefield Park, New Jersey in 1930 but it looks like her maidnen name was Lupton.

There is another in Illinois but his wife is Ida B. They have a lot of children born in the England and the USA. It looks like he must have come back to the ULK for a while...

There is another in Detroit but no children with them...

So nothing inthe 1930 census really matches.

You need to give us at least one or two children if there are any....

Sorry about the delay I was sleeping. Time difference I am afraid in Australia. Thanks for the great job you are doing I will give all details below as I know them.
William Jarvis Bell (drops the Jarvis on census) born Nottingham 1885 the son of William E Ball and Vashti White
was married to Mary Ann Castledine in 1904 they had one son Cyril William born abt 1906.
In 1911 census this family was living together in Nottingham along with his younger brother George age 13 at the time.
The 1911 census records both husband and wife ad Lace Makes. At that time Lace manufacture was the prominent industry in Nottingham.
Both parents of William J and George passed away tragically in 1907. I am unsure if William was married then or not.
George was handed over to an orphan organisation where he was sent to Canada. This action may have caused problems in the remainder of the family.
The above is more or less accurate based on some information I have collected. Now some points that come from my memory as a child being born in 1942.
Uncle Bill (as William was known to me I never met) but I was told he went to the USA. But remember I could be getting confused with George in Canada except I had a cousin who went to Canada but shortly after was encouraged to go to USA. She died in Dayton, Ohio in 1993.
Uncle Bill (William) did not maintain contact with his sisters. On one visit to Canada/USA Harriet the eldest sister did track him down.
Son Cyril may not have gone with his parents.
The loss of contact could have been a result of guilt over what happened to George.
Well that's everything I can think of he does not appear as I have said in death indexes in England as best as I can see and I did get some help there. This is certainly a brick wall.
