Could anyone help me find a marriage date for Edward Haywood b. 7 Feb 1869 in Rochford, Worcs to Mary Ann Broomfield? She died 1940 and is buried in Bromsgrove. Think Edward is buried at Rochford. Mary possibly born 1883 or 1889...Many thanks..

Looks like Edward is a free spirit from a work point of view - How far is Dunchurch from Rochford?

Thank you all so much! I don't have access to the 1911 census-this has been a great help! I know that Edward was a blacksmith at Rochford. The nearest recognisable place to Rochford is Tenbury Wells, Worcs. You're right, he must have travelled far and wide with his work. The two places must be 70 -100 miles apart! The age difference is 16 years too!
Any thoughts to finding a date and place for the marriage?
I could only find Edward on the 1871 & 1881 census.Their children were...
Wilfred Harold ....?
Evelyn mary 20th June 1906/7
Edward John 7th Feb 1909
Olive Mary 17th Sep 1911
Susan Annie 22nd dec 1914 died 25th Sep 1999
Nellie Violet bp. 19th Nov 1918
Bertram 3rd Nov 1919
Frederick 8th April 1923
We have these recorded as born at Rochford, but as this was near Tenbury Wells, this may have been the registration district.
Edward John never married but moved with his work to Bromsgrove. The widowed Mary-his mother-moved to Bromsgrove as his housekeeper. Susan and her family moved to Bromsgrove to look after Mary when she became ill.

We believe Edward died at rochford in 1834, but he didnt have a headstone..(although there are many haywood headstones there!) Does anyone have a date for his death?

Peter-I noticed you have 2 "Nellie " recorded for 1918..?
Arthur is new? ....
There is a family legend of Nellie possibly being a twin with a "Rose"? , also Nellie or Violet being twins....not so important as the marriage of course....Thank you all so much for giving up your time...

The fact that Nellie and Arthur were both recorded in the same quarter could suggest they were twins - their birth certificates would help to confirm this - they might have a time on them. Given they were registered "Mar quarter" which could mean as early as late December and Nellie Violet was registered in "Dec quarter" there would be sufficient time to have had twins which then died and then name the next child after the dead daughter - this happened in my family. It would be interesting to check for deaths of Nellie and Arthur during 1918.
