Greetings for 2010!

As an ignorant confirmned bachelor can I ask this please although it's not really "UK"?

Does anybody know how does this work? I mean one of my Danish folk emigrated to the USA then divorced her husband afterwards whilst he remained in Denmark.

Would all the relevant court papers be held solely in the USA or would some office/bureau or him himself be sent copies?

Thanks for any help on this incredible board!

Have you found their marriage in the Parish Records?
I know that for example, that if you changed your name (even if it was many years after your baptism), then this name change was noted in the original record book. Maybe they noted divorces along side the original marriage entry too. Bit of a long shot I know!
