In the 1911 census, my Grandad, Frederick Horace Dodd, born 1895 in Walsall, is "Working under detention" as a Gardener at the Stokes Prior Reformatory in Bromsgrove.

Is there any way of telling why he was there?

I looked this morning buy couldnt see anything.
I think it may be Stoke Farm reformatory in Stoke Prior.
I'm saying but not 100%, it was this morning! Just from what I was looking at.
I helped another person a little while ago for another reformatory, she wrote to them and got all the details. Amazing really!

I looked on Ancestry and didnt find anything other than census and family trees, I think one is Marks that has some wonderful photos on!
What did you find Sarah?
On this group you need to type out the info you found unless of course you can send direct to Mark.
Copyrights and all that. Ancestry do give an option to "share" to another address.
