right opened a topic here (me thinks opened a can of worms ha ha ) rather than added to the one in the black country social history

As society altered since corporal punishment at school was abolished.?

where once kids got discplined at school if they wernt getting discplined at home it would teach them what is acceptable and what is not acceptable, now CP is not done at school and some parent dont or not botherd about teaching kids right from wrong that we have such an expolsion in bad social behavour since the end of CP in the late 70s early 80s ?

will it only get worse as now the children who have not had such discipline are parents themselves?

do modern method of discipline work ?

I don't think there is any modern discipline Pete, what where, can you expand :?: ASBO's? On the other hand I don't think we can go back to the dark days of corporal punishment either, the answer must lie in education and opportunity. Linell.

Expanded

Some school use exsclusion a lot nowadays where we would of got a clip across the earhole of the teacher, by excludidng the there not getting an education ?

this is also happening sending them to a behavioural school its now costing the education system a fortune in transport and one to one teaching where displine would of sorted this out for the majority ?

or do we reward them for there bad behavior (trips etc ) hoping to show them the error of there ways and try to coax them around to a different way of acting social this also is costing the education system a fortune

?

Thanks for the support Annie. I know what you mean Pete, but you wouldn't take them to a War Zone, as you say you couldn't trust them, but a few months up in Scotland where they have to learn how to live, share and look after themselves within a disciplined enviroment would do them the world of good. A lot of these young men today, need some strong male influence in their lives, they could be introduced to some Video Footage of the SAS in action, that would give them something to think about. Linell.

but how do you think the arm forces install discipline? if they get someone that doesnt coperate they break him, and you think this wont involve violence of any kind. A soldier will not get away with refusing an order or not coperating as the officers will punish the whole section and then the section will pay the soldier back so your back to punishment ?
