What are we eating for Christmas Dinner?
Turkey with all the trimmings?
I have a friend who buys her ( sorry it is a she!) roast potatoes frozen!!!
How crass!!

Not a chance of that i'm afraid.She's very feisty so it's best not to say too much!!
Other than that she's a lovely lady.
Frozen roast potatoes though!!

Roast Beef!
I am doing Roast Beef not Turkey
I hate Turkey!!
it is always dry
and as always I will do my own roast potatoes
no cheating for me!!

We always do our own roast potatoes.....but the Sainsbury's goose fat ones are delicious ! ! we use goose fat anyway.

Think we will have turkey on Christmas Day. Last couple of years I have used a recipe from Nigella where you soak the turkey in spiced brine before cooking - changes the texture of the meat a bit but does mean it won't dry out.
Christmas Eve is the main meal here and I think we'll have smoked loin of pork as usual though there were some vote being cast in favour of smoked lamb. Could do both I suppose? Usually I do the smoked lamb in the morning and then people can eat it cold over the next few days but could have it hot and the left overs cold.

well mother will be doing beef, turkey and pork as usually so i will have some of each

We normally have turkey but thought a change would be nice this year so it will be leg of lamb and a gammon joint, and all the trimmings of coursr .
Maybe I will try those Sainsbury's roast potatoes .

I'd love to try goose but i'm a voice in the wilderness at home.
That smoked lamb sounds delicious never heard of that before and Peter enjoy your mom's cooking.Next year i think i'll try my mom's cooking at Christmas it's been a while.Last time i spent Christmas in England was when Jona Lewie sang "Don't stop the cavalry"!!
