Hi Lois, are you sure he was still alive in 1841? Just wondered. I did find John Parks, a Land Tax Occupier living and paying rent in Lower Rowley Regis (Cradley Heath) in 1829. There is also a Samuel and Joseph in 1781, but they are in Upper Rowley, so probably different families Linell.

Linell, my john parkes was christened 1761, so right at this moment he possibly could be, in 1841 he would have been 75-80, I was hoping that wife Mary would be along side him, so still playing around with it. I have only today discovered that this John Parkes married Mary Hipkiss, so still working and scouring names etc
