Can anymore info be got from an IGI record that is shown online?
For example I have the marriage of my GGGrandad in 1836, but there is no listing of his parents or his spouses parents. Is the copy of the records we see online all the info the records can supply or for a 'fee' could we get more detailed info?

fathers were only shown on marriage certs after sept 1837 bu igi dont show witnesses which in 1836 they would be on any look ups, what area is it in ?

I am a bit confused and am struggling at the moment as the IGI marriage shows his name William Teal, but on the birth certificate of first born fathers name given as Robert Harvey Teall Mothers name Charlotte Teall formerly Williams. All IGI christenings for children show father name William Teall. Why did people do this I was hoping to get more info from IGI to try and confirm Williams or Roberts!?!? real name.
