The details of my 3rd g/grandfather are:
Name: Zebulon Poland
Born: abt 1755, Shaldon, Devon
Married: Elizabeth Burn
I have no information on his parents, (my 4th g/grandparents) even though I have exhausted every known avenue to me.
I have even tried searches in France, Germany, Poland (country), Ireland, as I was told the Poland family/name has French connections. Where the connections are, I just don't know. Any leads or helpful suggestions would be much appreciated.
Ten years of looking and still hiding !!!!!!!!!!! aarrgghhhhhhh...........

No, this is the one who arrived in Canada in 1842...would have been born 1812....
The only backward ones I have found are those one already mentioned in Essex, Mass. In the USA.

Is it possible, do you think, Annette, that your Zebulon was in fact born in America (Co. Essex, Massachusetts) and went to Devon, England, married there in Stoke In Teignhead and settled in Shaldon - and was thence thought to have been born in Shaldon?
