Hi,

I'm looking for a marriage date around 1820-1825 in the West Bromwich or Tipton area for John Tolley born 1798 and Maria Phillips born 1803 .They both were born out of the area but all their children were born in West Bromwich, the first was born in 1825 so I'm hoping they were also married there.

Thanks alot that fits perfect only the Jolly should beTolley which seemed to have happened alot on the census documents because the family surname was mis spelt Soller, Tolly, Lolly and I can add Jolly to the list

Oh dear Jolly has now become a Folly (story of my life)

I've no idea what's going on here.

I've purchased the birth certificate for Harriet Tolley (spelt Tolly ) and it confirms father John Tolly (coal miner) and mother Maria Tolly (Phillips maiden name) which fits the information on the census and some of the marriage information.

John Tolley was born abt 1797 Lindridge, Worcestershire and Maria born abt 1804 Wellington, Shropshire.

I've found lots of Tolleys living around Lindridge and Phillips living around the Wellington area.

I'm confused

Many thanks everyone for the information because it's really helped me.

The Wellington, Shropshire link is a real bonus and looks really promising. I'm starting to think maybe Mary Maria Phillips could have been her full name but because one of her daughters was named Mary she used her middle name.
