It is possible that David Baxter was a friend of Martin Melia who was killed on 7th June 1916 also serving with the 9th Royal Warwicks. They had enlisted at the same time as their Army Numbers which were just 2 different, were the same age, and lived quite near to each other.

Thanks Kd

Bare with me just trying to get my head around all this so I can add to bcc correctly.

▪︎Am I right in thinking this is William Baxters mother living next door to him in 1871 ?

Next Door
114 Toll End Road Tipton
Sarah Baxter 60 Head W House Keeper Born Walsall
Sarah Baxter 22 Daughter U Brick Maker Born Walsall
John Baxter 20 Son U Brick Maker Born Tipton
William Madeley 52 Lodger U Labourer in Colliery Born Madeley
William Crew 50 Lodger U Coal Miner Born Netherton

1881 114 Toll End Road Tipton
Sarah Baxter 71 Head W Laundress Born Wednesbury
Sarah Baxter 38 Daughter U Brick Maker Born Walsall
John Baxter 3 Son Labourer Born Toll End
William Madeley 62 Lodger Un Labourer Born Shropshire
Thomas Giles 48 Lodger Un Labourer Born Berkshire
Sarah J. Baxter 17 Niece U Brick Maker Born Wales
William Baxter 10 Grandson Born Tipton

▪︎ Do I add William & Ellen marriage to bcc and put a note saying name on census appears to change to Eliza ?

This one has me stumped

I think it is Williams mother next door as she has William (grandson ) in 1881

Is it possible for the marriage to be checked as West Mids BMD has this
BAXTER William BUNCH Eliza 1870 Tipton, St Martin (Pepper Box) Sandwell Register Office 39/12/066

I'm at a loss, I did notice in 1901 Edward Bunce and David Baxter are lodgers with Catherine and Peter Hickman.

Catherine is Edward Bunces daughter so that would make her David's aunt
