Good morning,

I'm hoping somebody may be able to assist with providing some further information on two young brothers, William and Herbert Herring. Both were born in Stoke Newington in London, William on 22/04/1862 and Herbert on 18/09/1864.

I've located them both in the 1871, 1881, and the 1891 census returns and it's clear that the family had relocated to Ipswich in Suffolk, but I can't see either brother in the 1901 census onwards and I also can't locate any death information for either of them, which suggests they may have moved abroad.

A possible lead is a death notice in a local Ipswich paper in 1907, which states that Herbert Herring had died in Cape Town in South Africa. But is anyone able to provide any further details about what happened to either or both of these individuals, please?
