I am hoping oto visit the Gateshead Family History Fair tomorrow.

Has anyone got any advise for gettign the most out of such a day?

Hi Susan, I've only been to one at Cradley. You do get the chance to speak to other researchers, and maybe pick up some Parish Records or Local History books for your area of research. Hope you have a good day, best wishes from Linell.

When is the one in the mids does anyone know?

and if anyone is able to print off the whole family tree ( thinking of the BCC tree with 33,000+ ancestors) let

I have been to a few businesses trade shows and I think just find out where the loos are, the coffee and cakes are
and buy one of the directories they sell there!

A quick google search and it looks like the Midlands one was held in Worcester in August 2009.

This is the page I got the information from on ancester search. There are others listed on that page for later this year - October has Suffolk and Scarborough and November has Hull.

I was thinking of going to that. I havent been to one before either. Depends if my sons up in time
I think theres on in Durham soon too.

Thanks for all the advice.

It was a good day apart from the parking for which there seemed to be no notices.

It was interesting to see what products are available for storage, charts etc.

My advice to anyone going to something like that is the future is to take some water with you -it was hot but like so many things in geanealogy addictive and difficult to persuade yourself to leave even to go to the cafe until necessity drove you.
