My mother-in-law Megan used to work at Accles & Pollock during the 2nd World War as a welder and was involved with working on the Spitfires. She really loves those airplanes.
Dumfries Aviation Museum invited us there today and what an absolutely brilliant time we had.

The ITV News at Ten were there and will be on the telly tonight and also Boarder Television interviewing her, but not sure if that will be on tonight.
I thought you would like to know about it.

Oh how wonderful Barb!!
I've only just seen your post, I wonder if I can get it on 'catch up'

I'll have a look later.
Did you ever get a reply from Accles & Pollock ?

Oh it was really great San, unbelievable.

She doesn't use a wheelchurch, as she walks with a stick, but we had to use one at the museum because it would have been too far for her to walk around in the pouring rain!!
It was on Boarder Television as well last night and here is the link

Never heard a thing off Accles & Pollock, but the museum is going to find out what they can.

What a wonderful lady she is Barb! I bet she hasn't stopped talking about it?
They gave her plenty of air time for her to be able to tell her story didn't they?
(you both looked good too)

Many thanks for the lovely comments you've made regarding my ma-in-law and of course me and Ken. Glad that you enjoyed it.
We've all been on Cloud 9 these past few days and finally come back down to earth
