We have a George Cutler b abt 1846 Oldbury we think
married to a Mary O'Brian 1871
Birmingham, Warwickshire, England
Church Of England, All Saints Church, Hockley Street

now can we establish that his father is a William Cutler who is born about 1820 and marries a Sarah Unknown
This Sarah needs to be verified is she a Smith/Clarke what is her name!

So how Many Georges are there?
Which is the birth regis for George?
Did the George married to Mary O'brian have father William?

so I think that sits George in this family in 51 and 61
is he the Geoge that marries a Mary O'brian/

Do you have the marriage cert Mark?
Does the Geoge that marries Mary Obrian have a father William poss a labourer

Okay...double checking....I usually have two sources before I accept the information as Gospel but I do let certain people enter things for me.

Of the 9 trees I can see on Ancestry, only one has the parent listed and they match mine but there is no verification done.

George Cutler - Mary O'Brien marriage is transcribed wrong in IGI.

Batch M071424 Source Call 0918922. Mary O'Brien marriage to George Catler.

The marriage is registered in Warwickshire and is Volume 6d Page 33 for the 3rd QTR 1871.

I do not have the certificate as I will only spend $20 if I need more information or a second source of verification.

SInce both the BMD and IGI match, I am happy that the marriage is correct.

Somebody sent me the marriage certificate of George's brother, Joseph, to a Sarah Clarke on 26th OCt 1878 in Harborne.

George is a witness. The father of the groom is William Cutler, labourer.

On the 1881 George is with Mary he puts b Oldbury
this could be the birth regis
that would have his mothers name

I am talking to a living Cutler who lives in West Brom and supplied most of the information to me.

That is why I have not bothered with a lot of the certificate he is of the same lineage (his Great Grandfather was George's brother Joseph) and has been researching the tree for a very long time.

IF he has the certificate then the answer willc ome in an hour or so.

If I order the certificate it will be at least 10 days...

That marriage for George and Mary O'brian would be good too if he has that

I have both the marriage and birth certs.

Marriage: 10th September 1871.

Groom: George Cutler a bachelor aged 25 and a labourer. Father is William Cutler, also a labourer.

Bride: Mary O'Brien a spinster aged 25 and a chandelier burnisher. Father is ????, a labourer.


Birth Certifcate: 18th May 1846. Name: George. Father: William Cutler, a nailor. Mother: Sarah Cutler formerly Clarke. Registered: 30 May 1846.

I think that resolves the issue.

Like I said, I do not like to spend $20 getting a certificate if the source I get the information from is good.

Mr Cutler has researched the tree well and I knew he had the certificates to back it up.
