I never know when one ends and one begins!
But then all days pass by so quickly now


We have had some fabulous weather and not so fabulous weather
Some big news events...
That dreadful air france crash, Michael Jacksons death and lots more inbetween

What have you done that has been memorable!
I am always sad when I see the leaves start to fall from the trees and that autumnal feel

1st day of Spring for us Aussies.

We just had the warmest and driest winter on record in Victoria.

I got stuck into my family tree over Winter.

I went from zero to 7000 relatives on both sides of the family in three months.

I discovered my wife's father was adopted, which was a shock to the whole family. When we get the adoption papers in the next few weeks I will have another branch or two to trace.

I found my wife is decended from First Fleet convicts.

I solved a mystery for a distant cousin who did not know who his father was, just that he was killed in WW1 before he had a chance to marry his mother.

I was looking for the child of the soldier and he was looking for the soldier and pure luck made us cross paths.

Very recently, thanks to this site, I have found my Irish links and am now looking forward to tracing them.

I have started to get an appreciation for my Black Country cousins. I don't know what I would have been if I had been raised in West Brom but I do know the family, like all I have researched, would have been close and supportive.

The next six months in Victoria are going to be a bit scary.

The bushfires are already bad in N.S.W.

Victoria is heading for a more dangerous fire season than the last, where 180 people died in one day.

My Uncle and Auntie on holiday from Oldbury are worried about going anywhere near "the bush" but it is kind of unavoidable unless they head for the desert.

So I will take them for a drive in the Dandenongs, which are fantastic this time of year, and a few other bush areas before they dry out and become "dodgy".

My summer of 2009 memories.
Micheal Jackson,Farrah Fawcett and Teddy Kennedy (last of the political Kennedy's?) dying.
I flew on an aeroplane for the first time in 2 years!! Only to Paris but it was ok and i feel good again.
On a lighter note England regained "The Ashes" and i was introduced to Ancestry,
which,contrary to what some people think',i love and i wish i could go myself to Dudley and Sandwell for "look ups" !!
Alas due to the distance involved i cannot but i hasten to add i appreciate the people who do.
And i mean that sincerely folks!! ( Who said that?)
Arctic Monkeys live at Reading brilliant.New album out as well."Humbug".Give it a listen.
We have had some really lovely warm summer days and balmy evenings where one could sit out on the patio till the early hours if one wished.Except when "Mister Hedgehog "came to call of course.Then it was a quick retreat to the conservatory.
All in all it's been a nice summer weatherwise and now the leaves are turning brown and evening shadows lengthen it's a time to reflect on the past and expectations of things to come.
Nearly forgot i'm going to be a Granddad again in October.My daughter knows already that it's going to be a boy.Great i can take him to the football and teach him a few tricks. ( I am so full of myself i know!! )

I can't believe Summers been and nearly gone once again , the nights are drawing in and I don't like that love it when it's still light at 10.00pm, I can't stand the cold weather I would like to Hibernate if it was not for missing all the stuff happening on the forum.

Sorry i was a little confused!! Too many things happening i've a pile of ironing to do and i've had to buy a new iron.
So i've treated myself to a steam one!!
Gonna try it out now!! I'll iron while watching the Dutch equivalant of Crimewatch!!
