This William John Curtis-Hayward married Ethel Mary Harris twice 1) in 1941 Birmingham 2) in Bridgend in 1947

He had previously been married to an Ivy Irene Cook who was still living at time of both marriages

I have noted as follows
marriage to Ivy Irene Cook in 1937 was as William John Curtis Hayward

According to London Gazette changed name from William John Curtis Hayward to William John Curtis-Hayward in 1943 but both marriages to Ethel Mary Harris in 1941 and 1947 were as William John Curtis-Hayward. Possibly 2nd marriage in 1947 in Bridgend Glamorgan was because name change invalidated first marriage

But am I correct as name change was after 1st marriage to Ethel Mary Harris.

I presume he was divorced from ist wife

That is all very odd mumbles?
No birth showing for him either?

It could be ist marriage was in register office and second in a church

My sister in law says all she knows is her Aunt Ethel Mary Harris married an Hayward and went to Australia about 3 years after she was born

Harris members of family married into Dearne family which farmed at Perry Hill Farm and other farms in area and most are buried in Christ Church Quinton

Farms were in fields behind old Danilo Cinema at Quinton and are probably bisected by M5 today
I remember as kids my parents used to take us over fields to Kings Highway pub and we used to walk from Beaumont Road and past farms and cut down side of cinema and same on return

William first married Ethel Mary Harris in Birmingham in 1941 and re-married her again in 1947 in Bridgend, Glamorgan.

Now, was the church in Birmingham C of E and the one in Bridgend a completely different religion because of them living in Wales which they preferred rather than C of E, so re-married under that religion.
