Hi folks. Could someone look for Ernest in 1939 please? He was born June 1903 in Leicester. Would like to know where and who he was with. His wife was Daisy Olive but they may have split up by then. He died in 1971 in Enfield so maybe round the London area. They did have a child b1932 born Farnham Surrey. Thanks

Think I might be sending you on a wild goose chase. I have been trying to find an Ernest Harold Lawrence with a father Richard James and the only one seemed to be born Leics, but he married in Southampton so when did he move. Found death of E. H in 1937 in right area so he would be dead in 1939 sorry if he is the right one.

Can I change that search to Daisy Olive Morton b1907 Surrey with husband Arnold. Have had a preview and it shows 2 records for a Daisy O, 1939 entry and a marriage. If you could have a look at both I would be very grateful. Thanks again

Some one has a family tree on Ancestry that says Arnold Morton married a Daisie O Hartung, with parents William and Charlotte Searle, can't see where that came from.

Daisy Olive Searle was married 3 times. First to Ernest Harold Lawrence in 1929, second Arnold Morton 1937 and lastly to Hans Hartung 1951. Its Ernests background I'm trying to fathom. I know they had a daughter in 1932 who was adopted by her aunt in 1937 and brought up to believe they were her birth parents. She only found out when she was 20 that she was adopted. Was daughter adopted out because her parents divorced or split up we dont know or because Ernest died in 1937 and she was on her own, or as she remarried in 1937 Arnold may not have wanted the child with them.

On their marriage cert Ernests father is Richard James Lawrence formerly an engine driver and I have been researching this family but they are from Tamworth and Leics. Have looked up loads when I had free ancestry, but seems it could be wrong family as this EHL died in 1971 in Leics with a birth year of June 1903.

I've done loads of research for EHL with mother Sarah Sophia Locker in Leicester as his father was Richard James who worked on the railway. If he is correct then he is the one who died in Enfield 1971 aged about 68 and they must have divorced.(He was found in bed with another woman).
Is there any chance of finding him in the 1939 reg, but he wouldn't be with Daisy.

I had noticed there are 6 kids and found eldest Francis was Richards son with his second wife Sophia Pearman. He was also married 3 times, Augusta Locker who died,Sophia Pearman who died aged 44 and then Sarah Sophia Locker who was Augustas younger sister and mother of Ernest. It was through Francis's war record on the local Leics tributes that I found out Ernest s birth date of 3 June 1903 which leads me to believe he was the one who died in Enfield. So complicated!!
The account of Francis is very graphic, he blew himself up while taking the nose off a shell under orders. So sad.
