I need help please searching for the birth and marriage of William Brindley born about 1867 possibly in Birmingham. I've found references to his wife's first names in baptism and census records. She went by the name Mary Ann and Charlotte. At first I thought this to be two separate women but on one baptism record she is named as Mary Ann Charlotte. The children of William and Mary Ann Charlotte were Charlotte Elizabeth Brindley b. 1895, Emily Louise b. 1896, Florence May b. 1898, Beatrice Alice b. 1905 and William Henry b. 1908.

If it helps William Brindley had a sister named Charlotte Brindley b. abt. 1858 who married a man named George Hines in 1882 Aston, Nr. Birmingham.

Thank you.
Robyn

Thank you Grangers and Jimmy,
I've just found them in 1911. Searching for a marriage but I've found nothing for Brindley and Morris.
I think I've found the family of Mary Ann Charlotte in 1881 their name spelt Morries living at 2 Court 2 House 19 Gt Barr Street, Aston, Birmingham. Father William and mother Emma. A daughter Mary A.C Morries aged 5.
Thank you for your help.

Hi Jimmy,

I too couldn't find a marriage. I wonder if their names have been misspelt. Seems odd to state 17 years married if that was not the case. Thank you for looking.

They are in the 1891 census too, at Devon Street, Aston
Emmah Morris wid aged 43
Mary A S Morris 15
William C Morris 12
Jessie E Morris 9

MORRIS, JESSIE AMELIA MALLINEND
GRO Reference: 1882 M Quarter in ASTON Volume 06D Page 290
MORRIS, WILLIAM CHARLES MULLINEX
GRO Reference: 1879 J Quarter in ASTON Volume 06D Page 264

The 1881 census also has Charlotte Mullinex aged 64 and others, so that fits

There is a potential marriage

Marriages Dec 1877
GARGAN Margaret Birmingham 6d 139
Moore Edward Birmingham 6d 139
Morris William Birmingham 6d 139
Mulliner Emma Birmingham 6d 139

which would be after Mary Ann Charlotte was born. And this birth

MULLINEUX, MARY ANN CHARLOTTE LUCAS
GRO Reference: 1874 S Quarter in BIRMINGHAM Volume 06D Page 104

I'm feeling a bit confused now, but does it open the possibility of MAC marrying under a different surname?

Fantastic find, I'm impressed. I'm reading through all of this and much of it I can follow. But can't get my head around Mary Ann Charlotte Lucas Mullineux. Are we now saying that William Morris and Emma Mullineux are not her parents? Apologies if I'm a bit dim here but I'm trying to follow what's written.

Would it be that Emma Mullineux and John Mullineux are brother and sister and their father is Charles Mullineux? Then Mary Ann Charlotte is the daughter of John Mullineux and Mary Ann Lucas but raised as daughter of William and Emma Morris?

It looks to me that Emma and John are brother and sister, Mary Ann could have been registered under Lucas because William Brindley wasn't married.
