Hi there
My main reason for joining the site is that I have two family members that I cannot find any birth record for. On the 1921 census under Jesse ANDREWS born 1892 Kensington, London,
With Wife Florence PATTENDEN, Son Frederick ANDREWS which we know about as he is my Father In Law.
Richard ANDREWS, Born 1916 D. 1962. Again we know about his death but unable to trace a Birth Record 1921 census states Born Londonn Nth Kensigton.
William ANDREWS Born about 1919 London Nth Kensington. Unable to find a birth Record
Could they be adopted? Went on Find My Past, entered with mothers Maiden name Pattenden and 'no records' came up.
Tried with the Maiden Name and the right area didn't come up.
Is there a way of looking up adoption from that time? if records were kept.
Any help would be very much appreciated

I am going by the entry on the 1921 census:
ANDREWS william 2yrs 7 mths
ANDREWS Richard 4yrs 11 mths
Both born London Nth Kensington.
ANDREWS Frederick J. I have birth records etc as he is my father in law.
I did consider the William born St Olaves but that would make him 4/5 years old when filling in the 1921 census big difference /mistake to make when filling in the form.

the censuses are not always correct as the person giving the details could be anyone, have you found them on the 1939 registry that usually gives the DOB or the GRO index

My query is finding birth records for Richard and William Andrews. My husband is the son of Fredrick John Andrews Grandfather Jesse Andrews Grandmother Florence Andrews nee Pattenden.
Richard Andrews I am unable to find any birth records to Jesse and Florence, I know about his death have all these records
Did not have any knowledge of William Andrews until looking at the 1921 census. Unable to find any records connecting him with Jesse and Florence.
Is there any other Avenue I can take to try and trace them?

it's not a census it an NHS registry when you search for years select 1900, then select 1930s

you can also look at family trees to see if anyone else as info on the people you are looking for
