The 1851 Census records my 3rd great grandmother as Rozanah Parkes birth estimated 1805 in Wolverley, Staffordshire.

The 1861 Census states Rosanna Parkes estimated birth year 1803 born Tettenhall, Staffordshire.
She married James Parkes on 17th November 1825 in St. Philip's, Birmingham.
The transcript states her maiden name as Gosall but the marriage image could be Govall or Jovall.
My 3rd great grandfather James Parkes was born in 1807 in Birmingham and died in 1866.
There were three children.

I can't find Rosanna in the 1871 Census.
I don't know anything about Rosanna's parents or siblings.

Can someone help me to trace her please? I'm stuck and can go no further back without identifying her and her family.

Thank you.

Thank you, yes I do believe this is Rosanna although the daughter Louisa aged 11 doesn't fit with Roses' age of 71.

Thank you rockyfowler and Jimmy. I had assumed Rose Parkes died aged 74 in 1874 as I couldn't find her in the 1881 Census. That's a good find Jimmy in the 1881 Census for Ann and Louisa, I don't know how I missed that one.

I've just found on freebmd a Louisa Parkes born in Aston in 1860. Thank you.

Yes I do have the info from the 1851. I'm still stuck tracing Rosanna pre 1841.

This is their marriage record and I've taken her maiden name from this document. A difficult one I thought Gouall or Govall. But perhaps there was a difficulty with the church clergy in the spelling and pronunciation, even deciphering how Rosanna actually said her name. I'm presuming Rose and James were illiterate at the time of their marriage. It's worth considering the record you've found Jimmy. Are there any church baptism records for Wolverley as the 1851 Census? Any other baptism's for the family of Gobourn? Thank you for looking so closely at this request.

I wondered if that was Rosana's christening? :?

Perhaps Louisa was Henry's daughter? I found this marriage...
20th August 1855. St Phillips Church.
Henry Parkes, 19, B, Brass Founder, Steelhouse Lane?, James Parker, Spoon Polisher
Sarah Harrington, 19, S, Steelhouse Lane, William Harrington, Pavier
Both made a mark
Witnesses, Rosanne Parkes, mark, Henry Parkes, mark

Although I couldn't see them on census? Perhaps something happened to Sarah?

I did wonder if Louisa was the daughter of Henry James Parkes b. 1836 he died I think in 1867 aged 31 (age and year match). I've never been able to find Sarah Harrington Parkes after the 1861 Census or a baptism for Louisa. Perhaps Sarah remarried after the death of Henry and Louisa remained with her grandmother Rose and aunt Ann Parkes.
