Help with PM's Please

Genealogy I can cope with more or less but computers bamboozle me :

Can anyone explain what is the difference between the OUTBOX and the SENT section as my PM's seem to be going into them randomly?

outbox is were the message you send will stay until the person you sent it to reads it then it becomes sent. so if a pm is still in your outbox you may alter it or delete it if you wish.

Hi MG

I had trouble with those as well, clicking and bashing and the things went nowhere
Turned out I was deleting the persons name that I was trying to send it to ( the X in the box confused me)

You can't appreciate how much better you have made me feel - my children manage to give me the impression that i am the only one in the world who doesn't know instinctively how to use what they call the "intuitive"systems on computers.

Thank you again

MG

MG

If only all systems would use the same format, and make sure that they all look the same, I'd be fine. I'm geting too old to deal with change

PS I too have children who make me feel like an idiot

It's not sending them to bed I have problems with, It's getting them out of there in the mornings

I have better ways of dealing with insults..........I make them mow the lawns and cut the hedge. Then if they threaten me with childline my response is 'be my guest'

Before anyone reports me for child cruelty I must point out that the youngest is 20

On this theme - I saw a 'frig sticker yesterday, NL, that made me think of you:

"I've child-proofed my home ...
but they still get in somehow."

What did I start ? A whole new thread needed here? the trials and tribulations of the sandwich generation - those trying to cope with parents and teenagers at the same time!

But to return to the topic of PM's - I accidently pushed the SAVE button today - nothing appeared to happen - does the message get saved - if so - where to and can I remove it as it wasn't done intentionally.

Modern technology - wonderful when it works but a total mystery when it doesn't -

What advances would our ancestors have thought that about?? Yet another new thread ?
