Hi Linell

The print on Ancestry is awful but I think I might have found them on one of the originals - still trying to find what the transcriber might have made of it 1841 Leicestershire North Kilworth District 22 page 15 HO 107/598/6

I found them on Ancestry by going for Jane Hill birth year about 1811 North Kilworth and then going 2 image pages forward.

I'll have another go at finding a transcription

Thanks very much Maths Girl you did well finding that, brilliant. Is definitely them, although Matilda should be more like 30 and Wisse must be William. Bit worried about John aged 70 as I had Wm Snr's father as Thomas! Help, perhaps he was an Uncle?? Who knows, many thanks from Linell.

Well I thought the 70 year old read as Ann (didn't notice which sex she was supposed to be) so John and Thom are not that dissimilar given how bad the original is!

Glad to help

I thought the John said 70 But

If these are siblings which looks likely then John would be eldest and could be named after father John (70) -
JOHN HILL
Christening: 03 AUG 1800 North Kilworth, Leicester,

ANN HILL
Christening: 07 JAN 1798 North Kilworth, Leicester,

John(70) would also fit with father being Ind while son was still working as farmer - more likely than older brother ind and younger farmer - brothers would be more likely to share the title of farmer or it would be the older one with the younger delegated to manager/assistant?

Thanks everyone for looking. I found someone on Ancestry has parents of Wm Snr as Thomas and Mary, and as Peter said his two eldest children are Thomas and Mary so I think that is correct. The John aged 70 could be Thos hard to tell, he is either Wm's father or Uncle. Many thanks for everyone's input from Linell.
