so I would go with Connor ..ie what he is regis as if that is him.
but his father is a Benjamin Clarke who marries a Mary Connor.....so John may or may not be his kid.

but...Benjamin Clarke is actually baptised as Southall I know his mother is a Clarke
but what would his name in register be ...so looks like Benjamin Southall baptised?
but he takes the Clarke name of his mother

so we add john as Connor

and Benjamin as if baptised ....as southall...

looks right but i've lost the plot

So why are there 2 names for Benjamins father

free reg say Benjamin Clarke

but ancestry say Benjamin southall

should I look up the marriage ....I bet it says Southall on that marriage however free reg are normally pretty good...what you think I can add it to list.
