Can I just run this by you?

Joseph would have only been aged 21 when he married in 1792. On the marriage to Elizabeth Smith he was a Widower but a Bachelor on Elizabeth Foley marriage and (he signed) which ties in with the 1841 census, him being a Clerk

Joseph and Elizabeth had five children: Elizabeth b1793; Maria b1796; Joseph b1797; Edward b1803 and William b1807.
Their dau Elizabeth died of chlorosis in 1809.
When their mother died in 1810, daughter Maria would have been age 14, son Joseph age 13, son Edward age 7 and son William only age 3

We (myself & Mark) now begin to understand why Joseph Evans could write and his children could not, most of them were very young when their mother died, you would think Joseph would have needed some Parish Assistance to look after them?

Q: Do Workhouse records for Rowley exist?
.
*What became of Maria and Edward is not known*
