I know what I am about to ask will sound really pathetic to experienced people like yourselves, but I really could do with some Advice. I am looking at the Redgrave family from my mother's side. I have found James and Maggie on the 1891 census as living in Plodder Lane Farnworth with daughters Maggie and Jessie, (my Grandma). Both on the 1891 and 1901 census James is listed as coming from Camberwell Middlesex. Maggie's entry differs slightly one she is listed as Hammersmith, the other Camberwell. I also think I have found the registered death of Maggie, as she died aged 38, but it would appear that the death was registered as Charlotte M Redgrave 1907. Everything else does tie in though.
My problem is I cannot find anything for either of them in Middlesex, and I was wondering if their records could have been lost during the war.
Any advice would be greatly received.

if you have them on the 1891 and 1901 census and you know its them why do you need the death cert ?
have you checked the 1911 census for jessie, maggie jrn and father james see where they are ?

Thanks for replying Peterd - Sorry I haven't made myself clear - its not the death certificate I am after for Maggie, I am wanting to take James and Maggie backwards. Obviously I dont know Maggies maiden name, but I have been trying to find a marriage certificate for them and as yet been unable to find any that appear to match. I have searched for James Redgrave in the Camberwell as that is where he seems to have started out, but as yet found nothing to match. I just wondered if certain records were destroyed during the blitz.

I'm afraid I haven't very much to offer Peter.
My Mother Jessie Burgess dob 26 January 1914 offspring of William Burgess and Jessie Redgrave.
Jessie Redgrave had sister Maggie and brother Charles that I know of
on the 1891 census they are listed as follows:
282 Plodder Lane Farnworth
James Redgrave aged 31 Grocer Manager Middlesex Camberwell
Maggie Redgrave aged 23 Middlesex Hammersmith
Maggie Jnr aged 2 years Lancs Pendlebury
Jessie aged 8 months. Lancs Farnworth
1901 Census they are listed
46 Birley Street Pendleton West Salford
James Redgrave aged 42 Butchers Assistant London Camberwell
Margaret Redgrave aged 32 London Camberwell
Maggie aged 11 Lancashire Pendlebury
Jessie aged 9 Lancashire Farnworth
James aged 4 Patricroft
Charles aged 2 patricroft

Thats about it really
