But 4 children born after 1888 are registered mother Heathcock
but one child registered as mother Green in 1886
Cannot find a Annie Green who married an Hitchcock so something is wrong

Really need the marriage record to try and confirm the name change?
There is births that could be possible for both...

James Green was registered in 1939 as John James Green and is John James Green in 1851 and after marriage in 1871 Census is John J. Green

I have added all and made a few more connections from same thread
So Squire Taylor appears to marry Annie Green as I thought but she was born out of wedlock to Jane Heathcock and so put her Heathcock surname on register of her children save one which she put on as Green
