Do you know anything else about Samuel? There is a Arthur Charles Parks bpt 1850 Northamptonshire, parents Samuel and Jane. Samuel is a soldier and may be in barracks in 1841 but goodness knows where in 1851. Can't find a birth for Arthur Charles but they must have emigrated to US at some point. 1900 census has them married 54 years and immigration year is given as 1852 for Samuel and 1855 for Jane, so it could be them: Samuel born Ireland 1825 and "Jain" England 1826, though other US census has her a bit younger. Give up!

1841 in Barracks aged 16?
If he emigrated in 1852 might that not have been soon after the end of his miltary service? The 1841 census may give his regiment, tracking their whereabouts between '41 & '52 might show his movements.
