Dad was born in 1922 so he would have been ten or eleven.

Born at 72 Springfield Lane, Dudley. Mother Florence Rock (Later Lee) was 14/15. No Father recorded. Day of birth scratched out and doctored by Gladys to 26 December. Was amended when registering for her death.

Witnessed by Wilfred Lee and William Ernest Cutler. At time Gladys was a press-worker and Alfred a grinder. Residence at time was 51 Springfield Lane, Dudley

51 Springfield Lane is where she was in 1939 with Beatrice Kite.

Alfred was the son of William Cutler and Annie Ruston

I found on 1871 census there is a Barnet family living next door to Ephraim Kite.

I am getting really mixed up with these.

a Rock...other than being somehow connected to Beatrice and Beatrice step father is Henry Barnet

so .....why does Beatrice see her as a step dau....if Gladys mother is this Florence Rock

anyone crack this cos I am between a rock and a hard place!
