Christine might need a look at that census see if he is a chainmaker on there this Arthur
but the age is good for Joseph

then we can look that marriage up at the archives if you add it to the look up requests
see if father for Arthur is a Joseph
then we can join tree...

I have found a good possible match on the 1911 census it gives a birth year of 1910 but as they give an age of 1 year that would tie in with a birth in Sept quarter 1909 and they are living in Stourbridge. There are 3 possible matches coming up on the 1911 but only the one above seems a good match

Re your other question regarding the location for Joseph on his marriage cert it is given as 86 Quarry Road with the father as Arthur William Stokes and a chain maker josephs occupation is given as an ironworker. I am not sure where Quarry rd is!

I am joining up based on the occup of the family ie Joseph is a chainmaker
Joseph in 1911 is at that addy that grandson puts in 1930 (was that the marriage date Christine?)
so maybe he inherited the house..

I am going to look up that marriage just to confirm Arthurs father is Joseph but it is!

Christine still think a look up on that 1911 would be good see that Arthur is a chainmaker

a look up on this census would also give us where they are born
might say more than just stourbridge....cant remember whether the indexes for search just give the town/county only
