Hi Folks,

My next task is one of my wifes family. Not exactly BlackCountry but close.
William Crumpton married Mary Anne Huff on 5th may 1856 at St Purdi's Birmingham. Area is Winson Green I believe.
William's father was William on marriage certificate, Coach spring maker. Mother as yet unknown.
Mary's father was John Huff who was a Brickmaker. Mother unknown.

Any pointers gratefully received.

Regards Jeff

Peter,

Yes it's St Jude's. looks like St Pudi's in scrawl.

Age is stated as full and they are both living in Windmill street.
witnesses are George Field and Betsy Dingley

Hi Jo,

It's hard to make out. Looks like Flighter. I'll try and find him on census and see what that says.

Don't think it's him in 1861.

In 1871 the children we know of fit. He was then a Poultry dealer. Don't know if that's any connection with "flighter"

Sorry Jo I'm getting mixed up with my wifes other side, Harris and an Emily from that marriage.
This is probably William Crumpton and Mary in 1881. My wife's relation was Julia Harris ne Crumpton.

Funny thing is some of the children are pre-1856 marriage. The area is bang on though for later generations. On marriage certificate they are both down as living in Windmill street.

Regards Jeff

Yes thats got a good chance Jo! Wife was Mary Anne.

I don't get ancestry sometimes. Still brings up targets pretty randomly sometimes. I found the 1861 in Harbourne further up the post, but was then uncertain. Didn't bring up 1871 you have found. Can't find them or William in 1851. I'm using both direct search on Ancestry and search on family tree maker.
Especially trying to find William in 1841 and Mary Anne Huff in 1841 or her parents.
