Have been reading black country bugle today, article in there regarding a war memorial found in Haden Hill House. List of war dead includes Samuel Capewell. They believe the memorial came from Doultons Pottery works in Doulton Road. Have reason to believe he may be my great uncle. I have got records from library on one Samuel Capewell who died in ww1 but i think they are the wrong ones as his age and address do not match. My Samuel Capewell was born in 1893 in Darby End Netherton so would have been 21 when war started in 1914. Have been on CWGC site. They have 2 SCapewells, but no age at death so can't tell which one he is from there. He had no reason to lie about his age as my Aunt can remember how proud they all were of him and can remember a photo of him in uniform hanging on the wall at her grandmothers. Any one any ideas please?
