My sister-in-law Monika is looking for a sister. Here is her message:
Who knows the daughter of my father? His name was Hugo Melka, born 18.Jun.1898 in Elsterwerda / Sachsen / Germany. He worked approx. 1930 for several years as a tailor at Dior in Paris. There are lots of links for French Genealogy, there is also a searchable BMD database, but I don't speak/read French so not sure exactly what is available on the database!

Thank you very much, Nikki. There is one big problem: We don't know her name! Monika's father was master tailor at DIOR in Paris, her half-sister's mother was customer and married. When she was pregnant, the step-father got informed and her half-sister got his name. But her really father Hugo Melka had to leave. He died long time ago.

Hugo Melka, the married customer and her husband may be the only people who knew the truth ....
There's always the possibility that the child was never told the truth about her father.
