This Alexander Dowlin + variations in spelling on census & Sarah Hodgetss which I'm entering on BCC here
https://bcconnections.tribalpages.com/t ... ver=420403All their children on the GRO index are listed as DOLAN or DOLLAN. So my question is, do I enter the surname as DOLAN with a note?

Confused now because I've found this burial for Alexander
Burial: 21 October 1896 St James the Great, Lower Gornal (FreeREG)
Alexander DOWLING - Cinder Rd - Age: 64
Register note: Coroners Order
and this for Sarah his wife
Burial: 14 April 1905 St James the Great, Lower Gornal (FreeREG)
Sarah DOLAN - 10 Himley Rd - Age: 71
Right, I'm going to leave it as DOWLING.

I would put it as Dowling but add a note with other variations.

Thanks Jo. This is a nightmare with all the variations of surnames and Thomas Amphlett marrying 3 times, with 2 of his wives being married before
