Hi sorry I've not got back sooner. I am waiting for Samuel's birth cert to arrive from Sandwell, should be in next couple of days, then I will let you know which year he was born in. I noticed on tribal pages that you have added 3 of Samuel Garratt and Maria Summers children. The Mary Ann on there is actually Mary Hannah born 10th May 1867 at Netherton Hill, Dudley. Hope this is useful info. I have noticed a lot of Tromans on these pages but alas not any seem to be my ancestors. Will keep digging..... Has anyone any idea how to find ancestors on census if you suspect the names have been wrongly transcribed. Have searched ancestry.co.uk , find my past and family search for my lot of Tromans in 1881 and can't find them anywhere. Am doing my research at library at the moment where ancestry.com is free, but would be interested in subscribing to one of these sites, can anyone point me in the direction of the best one?????? Cheers Chris

Have rec. birth cert. today. Samuel Garratt born 19/08/1842 at Garratts Lane, Old Hill, Rowley Regis. Father down as Shildon ?? (Shelah on Sams Marriage Cert.) Mother Hannah Garratt formerly Lees - which ties in with what's already on your tribal pages. Fathers occupation at the time is down as Collier (lots of pits in Old Hill at the time). His occupation later on is Horse Nail Maker.

not got round to looking at home page of bcc yet, had to go the merry hell today, but will do soon when i have my concentration hat on. I have no more questions on Samuel Garratt, but I do have info on his descendents which can be sorted on bcc.
thanks for help.
