Hi there,
I'm new to genealogy (since January this year). I never realised how much fun it could be, or how addictive! Thanks to a friend who got me started, I'm now completely hooked.
I've realised I enjoy tussling with digital records in hopes that I can extract some gem and I've had some success: in January 2017 I hope to meet with one particular diamond - a "lost cousin".
I'm researching both my Irish and English/Welsh ancestry (regrettably, no Scottish ancestry yet). Like many of you, I'm sure, I've been afflicted with The Curse of the Common Surname so it has made identifying and isolating ancestors even more of a challenge.
No doubt I'll be posting in the Brick Walls section and/or asking for help with look ups some time in the future. It goes without saying that if I can reciprocate or "pay it forward", I'll be more than happy to do so.
Until then,
MsF
