Some where along the line I think I'm connected to the Birchell/Burchell family.

I see there is also a Meese connection (Emma b about 1827, d of William Meese, Glascutter).
The only baptism I can see that fits is 18 March 1827, Old Swinford, d of William & Ann Meese - does anyone have access to the Old Swinford register (is it on FreeReg) to check fathers occupation?

It was not unusual for families in the area between Brettell Lane/ Quarry Bank etc to use Old Swinford church.

Thanks RF - that fits then. I suspect 'Hamlet' may refer to Amblecote, which was in the parish of Old Swinford.
