Please could somebody see if they can find my ancestor Arthur BAKER on the 1901 and 1911 censuses. I've hit a brick wall with my great uncle - cant find his occupation or any facts about him in later life! Wukd like to ultimately find his death certificate once I have more info on him.

Hi Jimmy, Yes indeed He was Joseph Abel Baker (1848-1923).

So I found 1881 but not 1891.

Oh! Thanks for looking Jimmy. Did he die or is he just being elusive I wonder? No sign of him on the 1901 census?

There is an Arthur Baker who was born about 1875 married an Ada.

I wonder if that could be him? He is a complete mystery to our family so I'd gladly order any 'likely' marriage certificates to try and gleam some more information! Shame that both Arthur and Baker were such common names during that time! An unusual middle name would have helped.
