Does anyone have afternoon tea anymore?
I love a cuppa about 3pm in a china cup and a slice of cake...or preferably the whole cake
or Scones and jam and pronounced the proper way as in tones not tons!!
I hear thru the grapevine that afternoon tea is making a comeback!
but the dilemma I have is what is the official time ? Is it...
When the clock strikes 3 everything stops for tea
or
whatever the score everything stops at four
cant remember the songs but sure there are 2 of em!
I thought 4pm was high tea!

When i'm in England i always buy myself a pineapple chunks cream cake or a dripping cake.
Not every day of course gotta think of the waistline!!
They don't know how to drink tea over here.
They give you a glass of hot water and a tea bag, whatever taste you fancy, and you can dip it in the hot water.
Is that disgusting or what? No milk and no boiling water!! So i only drink tea in my home.
Coffee's great though.
Oh i do frequent Dutch cafes. Not very often because i prefer to drink at my local football or tennis club, but now and again i go in them.

Hi Norther Lass
Mucky Fat is from the roasted joint , if you pour the it in a dish it sets and is a brown colour hence the mucky fat ,used to have it a lot during the war, some butchers round here still sell it , a teacake is made from the bread dough shaped like a flat cake , they also have some with currents in, don't know if those are like a Lardy Cake.

Our butchers don't give crackling with the dripping sarnies.
