I have a birth certificate for Mary Ann Rose born seventh May 1850 mother Mary Rose formerly Parkes father Joseph Rose labourer deceased.
Informant mother Mary Rose X registered sixth June.

Also death certificate for Joseph Rhodes died tenth August 1850 at Grace Mary Colliery RR age 41yrs Coal Miner Killed by coal falling accidently on him Coroner William Robinson registered thirtieth December 1850.

Couldn't be Mary Ann's father as he was already dead before 6th June.
Still looking for him. Mary Ann is granddaughter of Abraham Parkes and Ann Parkes ( Rose).

Joseph Rhodes occupation on Dudley parish register is miner. I wonder if there are two Mary Parkes both with different Abraham Parkes as fathers. Is there a Mary Rhodes widow in 1861 census. Such common names Mary Joseph Parkes Rose very confusing.

is there a accident report in a newspaper or coroner concerning death, was the death cert delayed due to inquest ?

Fatal pit accident – On Monday last an inquest was held before W Robinson ESQ and jury at Shakespeare Inn, Stafford Street, on the body of Joseph Rhodes, aged 41, who was killed on the spot on the previous Saturday by a fall of coals, while engaged in loading a skip down a pit at Mary Grace Colliery, belonging to Mr Percy, in the parish of Rowley. The jury returned a verdict of Accidental death. Rhodes has left a wife and five children
