I know Jimmy :( been looking and looking...
I presume Emma wasn't married as it says in one paper that she was known as Emma Wright or along them lines... I thought I had read about her Mum, I thought Elizabeth, so could be what census you put?
It has really got stuck in my head this... would love to unravel more!

I have been picking out some bits to see if this helps...

"It will be seen that the daughter of the deceased, who is 15 years of age, was under the impression previous of her mothers death that she was her sister. This is explained by the fact she was an illegitimate child and in order to conceal this from the prisoner the pretence was set up that she was deceased sister. The unfortunate woman was 37 and not 27 as stated last week."

"Jemima Owen aged 15, daughter of deceased before marriage but who had passed as her sister, deposed that deceased drank with other women on Tuesday afternoon till she became tipsy. Took a cup from her mouth twice. Saw Owen strike her. Owen was a good husband and witness never saw him drunk. Did not know that deceased was her mother until the day of her death."

Martha Bate living Old Bilston-----She married him later.

Eliza and David Cresswell----- Where she died

Mrs Kendrick and two other women drinking in Benjamin Owens

Hannah Rogers aged 15. Bilston Road, Wednesbury
Hannah Pitaway, wife of Thomas Pitaway a puddler. Lloyd Street
Maria wife of John Simmonds a groom
Ann Williams, wife of a miner. Edward Williams

I cant either Jimmy, I keep looking.
Jemima was born around 1844 if age is right in the papers I read. I wonder if they were not from the area? There was one born about that time but her father is Noah. Then a younger daughter of Benjamin and Jane's too... If Jane had died and Benjamin in prison where did she go?
Bugging me!
Jo :)
