I have reached a real brick wall on my ancestor James Sheldon. He is my 4 x Great grandfather and married Susanna Rich in St Martin's Church Birmingham on 13.5.1799.
They had 8 children
James 1803
Richard 1803?
Elizabeth 1805-1809
Thomas?
William 1812
John 1815-1816
Henry 1819 (my direct descendant)
Ann 1822

In 1822 James youngest 3 children were christened at St Phillips Birmingham along with the children of 3 other couples also called Sheldon who I assume were either his brothers or cousins but again try as I might I haven't been able to tie them all in together.

I seem unable to find James' parents or his dOB. Hoping someone might have some ideas as to what I can do as I have been going round and round in circles.

It is very difficult to find parents unless there is documentation to confirm. Previous to 1837 you are not likely to see parents on marriage records. I noticed too that both James and Susannah had been married previous to.

Have you seen this? Could this be Susannah?
