Not sure if this is where I should be posting...Re Richard Rich c.1803-1849 married 1827 Dudley to Ann Timmins(Tipton)
Have been stuck for years re. Richard Rich. cannot find a baptism for him.
His, is the only Rich family that I can find in Dudley in 1841. So frustrating..as I have such a strong gut feeling that the following is connected to him, but...nothing concrete to back this up.

Baptism Susanna Rich 2nd Feb 1794 St Martins Birmingham -Parents Thomas + Susanna

Marriage St Martins Tipton By Banns 15 Sept 1817 Susanna Rich +Samuel Griffin (I'm thinking possible half-sister)

As I said previously.. cannot find a bapt. for Richard Rich c 1803...a bit of a stretch...but could this be it..
Bapt. Richard Sheldon 28 Dec 1803 St Peter + Paul Aston Birmingham-Parents James + Susanna

Marriage Susanna Rich widow + James Sheldon widower 13 May 1799 St Martins Birmingham

I know it's all wishful thinking.. that somehow Richard wanted to be known as Rich..could he have been brought up by his elder siblings?

I have Susanna Rich in my family tree born 1781-she is the wife of my 4 x Great Grandfather James Sheldon. It seems when they were married in 1799, she was a widow.
I have been unable to trace her first husband or her maiden name so have come to a dead end. I know she was born in Ireland because that is listed on the 1841 and 1851 census.
I too have hot a brick wall with James Sheldon. So frustrating!

At long last...I've seen the 1841/51 census for Sus.Sheldon(Rich) born Ireland..could she be the Sus.Jordan who wed Thomas Rich?..
There is another Sheldon link..in the 1881 census at Tipton with who I believe to be Rich,Rich(Sheldon's) brother Wlm Rich.

In a bit of a hurry at the moment...will get back to you later on today.
