Hello from Herefordshire

Hello
My name is Sophie and I've been researching my family, on both sides, since 2012.
On my mother's side there is one major stumbling block and it has prevented me from moving forward for years......
It is quite a lengthy story and I'm not sure where best to post it. Would it be appropriate here or in beginners?

Beginners is only to show how to exactly find something....so post in Gen. discussion and we can move it if
it is say from the Black Country area as that has its own forum on here.
