This William Dean:

I had long given up on finding his marriage to Ann - it was either not written down at the time, or has simply been lost.

However, by chance, having got details from Linda Moffats book on the Skidmores (a large part of which is now online by the way) I now know she was a Skidmore- she is mentioned in her fathers will as the wife of William Dean!

More on Ann Skidmore (wife of William Dean):

She was baptised 20 Feb 1761, buried 22 Oct 1765, both at Old Swinford. Her parents were Joseph Skidmore b about 1663-7 (I think this info comes from a will as I can't see a bapt) and Elizabeth Gould (m 7 Apr 1689, buried 31 July 1696, both events at Old Swinford). Joseph Skidmore died 1728 Kingswinford.

Joseph Skidmores parents were William Skidmore b abt 1628 Amblecote, bapt 23 Jan 1628/9 Kingswinford, bur 25 Apr 1695 Kingswinford, and Bridget. Williams parents were William Skidmore and Joyce Hawkes/ Bache (already on BCC).

Another Dean/ Skidmore connection:

William Skidmore and Bridget had a son Isaiah/Esau b 1664 Amblecote- he m (4 April 1687) Jane Gould b abt 1660. Isaiah/ Esau and Jane had a son Thomas bapt 5 Apr 1693, bur 8 Mar 1772, both Old Swinford: this Thomas seems to have had three wives:
Hannah
Ann Cox ( m 27 Jan 1715, Old Swinford)
Mary - with Mary he had a daughter Mary bapt 8 January 1732/3, Old Swinford.

Mary (b 1732/3) married twice:
Once to an Unknown Smith, with whom she had a daughter Mary Smith, and also, 26 May 1756, Kingswinford, to Thomas Dean, bapt 2 March 1732, Kingswinford, son of William Dean and Ann Skidmore.......and we are back where we started!

There is no marriage recorded - that's the point: she is mentioned in her fathers will as the wife of William Dean

Ok understand that but is that will info online or just in your book if so what is the name of the book so I can credit it in notes on bcc
will have to sticky this and work thru next weekend....but if anyone can post the bapts and marriages etc I need to verify

Ann Skidmore 1691 Old swinford.....can someone verify pls for me on IGI

Then her parents Joseph Skidmore and Elizabeth Gould ....can someone verify marriage pls in 1689 7 April Old swinford...full info in poss...
and bapt for Joseph in 1663/7?

Then Wm Skidmore Josephs father and mother Bridget...again verify bapt for Wm of 1628 parents Joseph and Joyce and marriage of wm and bridget pls
