This Thomas Pearson:
http://bcconnections.tribalpages.com/tr ... ver=349416

was bapt 9 July 1797, Brierley Hill, and died 14 March 1852, Brockmoor Bridge he is buried in the family grave at Bank Street Methodist Church (the gravestone is no longer there, but I have a transcript of the inscription). His parents are Joseph Pearson 1776-1840, and Phebe Parrish 1776 - 1853: they are already on BCC.

His wife was NOT Sarah Bate, but Sarah WOOD. She was bapt 4 March 1798, Brierley Hill, and died 26 Jan 1870. She is already buried at Bank Street. Her parents were George Wood, b 1770 Kingswinford, and Eleanor Baker, b 1765, Kingswinford (m to George Wood 5 mar 1791, Kingswinford). Thomas Pearson and Sarah Wood married 22 March 1821, Halesowen.

Several of Thomas and Sarahs children are also buried at Bank Street Methodist:
Eliza bur 13 Jan 1846
Joseph b 1832 (don't have date of death)

Their daughter Phoebe b 30 Sept 1826, d 30 Oct 1893 married Peter Harris, b 15 May 1814 Sparkbrook, Birmingham, d 25 Sept 1874 Aberystwyth - this couple both buried St Michael, Brierley Hill (a big white obelisk at the rear of the church (ie looking from the main gate/ path). Peter Harris was the partner in Harris & Pearson, Firebrick Manufacturers, with George Pearson, b 1821, Thomas's brother. Peter Harris left some Almshouses in the little lane at the back of the church (I cant remember the name of it) which are still there (there is a plaque with his name on). Peter Harris & Phoebe lived at 'The Elms' in Brierley Hill - now the site of the Police Station etc (the last of the original Elm trees died just a few years ago!)

Among other children, Peter Harris and Phoebe Pearson had Thomas Pearson Harris 1859-1929, m Mabel Eugenie Freer (b 1868, Brierley Hill, m 1890, St John, Brierley Hill) - their son Tom Cyril Freer Harris MC and Bar, TD, b 1892, Solihull, married Rita Madeline Hingley b 17 Apr 1902, Pedmore, d 2000

More on Rita Madeline Hingley:

Her parents were Harry Bertram Hingley, b 1873, Cradley, Worcs, and Gertrude Mary Ward, b 1877 Croydon (M 1901 Birkenhead)

Harry Bertram Hingley's parents were Samuel Hingley b 1829, Cradley, Worcs, d 1901, and Harriet Rumer Godden, b 1844, Birkenhead, Cheshire, d 1906, Eastbourne.

Samuel Hingley should be on BCC - his father was Noah Hingley 1796- 1877 (yes, that Noah Hingley!)

Sorry, I don't have the details to hand as I am at work, but there is a big clue in that they called one of their children George Wood Pearson, presumably after Sarah's father

That doesn't add up - all of the family were in the coal mining trade - Thomas's father and most of his brothers owned coal mines (although I have seen their fathers (Joseph) occupation given as collier when at the time he owned at least one coal mine.....

Thomas's Parrish cousins were all in the glass trade.

Two Thomas and Sarah's ??

Gorsty Bank is present day Bank Street, and Brockmoor Bridge is possibly the lower end of that where the road runs (ran?) over the railway line, just before you get to Commonside, so that's probably the same family, allowing for the ages you get in the 1841 census.

What about the Thomas Pearson/ Sarah Bate couple - where are they?
