Looking at the 1911 Census I have found that my Great Grandmother Julia Bunford and her sister were inmates at the Birmingham Workhouse, Julia was 11 years old. I am unable to find information on her parents from looking at previous census records, my Grandmother says that she believes that they worked on the canals and so this may be why I am unable to find them. I would like to know whether anyone is aware of any records from the workhouse which may give me more information on her parents or even just the reason as to why she was in the workhouse. I look forward to your replies.
