Managed to work out from 1881 census we found and witness at marriage is Thomas Nicholls
Samuels age fits too

1881 29 cross st Tipton
Thomas Nicholls, head, 27 miner
Catherine Nicholls, wife, 24
Sarah, daur, 7 months,
Samuel Hunt 26 lodger coal miner

So this is his first marriage?

I was looking for Hannah previous to marriage and not seen her. I first thought if her name had been transcribed wrongly but all records I could see show her as Bull. I thought maybe it could be Hill?

I still think that Samuel when Living with the Nicholls family it is his sister there. I know the marriage shown another first name as father but I think they made it up to save face!

that is how I read it....not sure though of the 2nd marriage would need certif of one of kids to prove
