ARC TBC Elusive Richard Rowlands

Hello everyone,
I am new to this forum and I am really hoping someone out there will be able to help me in my searches for my elusive 3rd gt. grandfather whose name was Richard Rowlands.
My brick wall means I am unable to trace his birth/baptism/christening or his parents and siblings.
This is what I have found so far. The 1841 census has him aged 50, his wife Elizabeth and their children living in Birmingham, Warwickshire, but the census does not give his or his wife’s place of birth. I believe I have found their marriage in 1825 in Shrewsbury, Shropshire.
It seems that their first born child also named Richard was born in Shrewsbury a year later while the other children were born in Birmingham.
On the 1851 census he is shown as a widower named Robert, (his name was Richard) and living with his daughter, my 2nd great grandmother and her family in Birmingham. He is shown aged 50 born 1801 in Cardiganshire, Wales and a blacksmith by trade. It also shows a younger son born in 1833 named Robert. I have fully covered most of the family after 1841 and beyond.
I cannot go any further back with Richard not knowing exactly when he was born or where.
Can someone please help shed some light on Richard’s birth, his parents and siblings?
Thank you in anticipation.
